While it’s been a long time since I last posted here, I’ve not stopped trying to critically & humanely think about the world. A pandemic came & went. Elections came and went & came and went. The economy affects us all. Foreign wars and conflicts continue in multiple locations. Now we stand at what unfortunately may be the precipice of World War 3. One can only shake their heads in complete shock & shame of how we arrived at this point.
Why do adults find it necessary to resort to killing their enemies and allowing their own to die in this pursuit? War is not success. War is failure. Lives are humanity’s most precious resource.
To save lives, the only path is to KEEP TALKING. Listen to the voices from both sides of any conflict. Truly listen. Understand. Compromise. Negotiate. And put down the weapons. Peace is difficult work. Perhaps the most difficult work any leader may undertake. But peace is essential to arrive at a point where we can again feel HOPE. Real hope. A point where we can see families & friends living in harmony. A point when we can once again hear the most precious & fragile sound in the world…The laughter of children.
May the world leaders open their hearts to work towards a world where there is a cacophony of laughter & happiness in our young people.
Every one of us must light the flames of HOPE. Put down the weapons & violent/hate-fueled words & keep talking. Never give up on peace. Words that grow PEACE are humanity’s most overlooked wealth.
May wisdom win. Otherwise we all LOSE.
